A healthcare staffing agency is seeking a Theatre Healthcare Assistant (HCA) for NHS Hospital's main theatres and day-case unit in Glasgow, Scotland. Location: NHS Hospital – Main Theatres / Day‑Case Unit

Band: 2–3

SJK Healthcare is recruiting experienced Theatre HCAs to support busy operating theatres, assisting surgical teams across pre‑op, intra‑op and post‑operative pathways. Ideal for HCAs confident in fast‑paced, technical clinical environments.

💼 Key Responsibilities
  • Support theatre teams during surgical lists
  • Assist with patient preparation: checklists, gowning, escorting to theatre
  • Help position patients safely for surgery under RN/ODP guidance
  • Collect/transport specimens and run urgent theatre errands
  • Support recovery teams with early post‑op care
  • Restock equipment, prepare trolleys, and maintain sterile environment standards
  • Follow strict infection prevention + PPE protocols
🩺 Requirements
  • Previous HCA experience in theatres or day‑surgery in NHS (UK) Hospitals
  • Care Certificate / NVQ Level 2–3 desirable
  • Confident with patient handling & basic observations
  • Strong understanding of infection control & theatre safety
  • Enhanced PVG + up‑to‑date mandatory training
