Location: Nottingham

Salary: £24,727-£27,720 per year, pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Contract: Fixed-term, 12 months

Working pattern: Full-time; Part-time 29 hours per week will be considered.

Overview

The School of Medicine, University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Technician - Digital Research to join the Digital Cancer Screening Research Group in Translational Medical Sciences. The role will provide technical support to the Digital Cancer Screening Research Group and will include some knowledge of dry laboratory research.

Responsibilities
  • Use basic computational skills in areas such as programming languages (e.g., Python).
  • Handle digital imaging data in medical contexts, including DICOM.
  • Some experience with picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
  • Assist senior colleagues in the development of computer science, digital laboratory techniques and processes, utilising existing skills and knowledge.
  • Provide general technical support to the Digital Cancer Screening Research Group.
Ideal/Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python).
  • Familiarity with digital imaging in medicine (DICOM) and PACS.
  • Good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in a clinical-sciences setting.
Location and Conditions

Based at the Clinical Sciences Building, Nottingham City Hospital.
