A leading claimant personal injury business in Wakefield is looking for a Technical Support Lawyer specializing in Personal Injury (PI/RTA). You will provide technical guidance, support fee earners, conduct audits, and improve quality within the team. The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with strong PI experience. This role offers a salary between £40,000 and £45,000 and the flexibility of remote working.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEx.
  • Strong PI experience including litigated claims.
  • Confident across OIC / Small Claims / Fast Track / Intermediate Track.
  • Excellent client care and strong practical grasp of court procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a go-to technical expert within the PI/RTA team.
  • Provide technical guidance on litigated and non-litigated PI matters.
  • Conduct technical & quality audits across the team.
  • Produce analysis and written reports to support performance improvement.

CRA Consulting is pleased to be supporting a leading claimant personal injury business in the appointment of a Technical Support Lawyer (PI/RTA). This is a brilliant opportunity for a technically strong PI professional to step into a role focused on quality, guidance, audits, valuations and technical development-supporting fee earners and management to drive better outcomes across the department.

The Role (What you'll be doing)

You’ll act as a go‑to technical expert within the PI/RTA team, supporting fee earners and leaders with complex queries and quality improvements, including:

  • Providing technical guidance on litigated and non‑litigated PI matters
  • Reviewing / approving valuations and giving constructive feedback
  • Conducting technical & quality audits across the team and reporting themes
  • Tracking and sharing emerging case law and industry developments
  • Supporting and contributing to technical training sessions
  • Identifying trends / emerging risks for the wider business and clients
  • Producing analysis and written reports to support performance improvement
  • Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, complaints handling and policies
Key Measures of Success (KPIs)
  • Quality Reviews completed and evidenced
  • Improved error rates and valuation accuracy
  • Improved technical file audit outcomes
  • Monthly performance reviews with your Line Manager
What we’re looking for
Essential:
  • Qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEx
  • Strong PI experience including litigated claims
  • Confident across OIC / Small Claims / Fast Track / Intermediate Track
  • Excellent client care and strong practical grasp of court procedures
  • Great communication skills (including negotiation and objection handling)
Desirable:
  • Strong attention to detail and consistently high-quality work
  • Comfortable producing reports / presenting data and trends
  • Positive, proactive, solutions‑led mindset
Development & Progression

This business operates across OIC, Fast Track, Intermediate Track, Multi Track and Catastrophic Injury, with scope for high performers to develop into other specialist areas and progress long‑term.
