Technical Sales Engineer / Area Account Manager / Mechanical / Servo Motion / Automation

An exciting opportunity for a technically minded sales professional to work with servo motors, gearboxes and motion control solutions, supporting customers across industrial automation and mechanical engineering sectors.

If you have a background in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (Servo Motors, Gearboxes, Automation, Motion Control, Robotics) and have also worked in the following roles, we’d also like to hear from you: Sales Engineer, Automation Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager, Mechanical Sales Engineer, Technical Engineering Account Manager, Business Development Manager / BDM (Automation), Regional Sales Representative.

SALARY: £40,000 - £49,000 per annum + Annual Performance Bonus + Car + Expenses + Pension and Ongoing Professional Development

LOCATION: Covering South / South West and South Wales. 4 Days in the Field and 1 Day from Home

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

JOB OVERVIEW

Due to sustained growth and the expansion of the team, we have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Technical Sales Engineer / Area Account Manager to join a growing sales team supporting customers across the UK. This role is home-based and focused on developing new business while managing and growing existing client relationships.

As a Technical Sales Engineer / Area Account Manager, you will work closely with customers to understand application requirements, providing technical advice on servo gearboxes, motion systems and automation solutions. You will play a key role in specifying products, preparing proposals and supporting projects from enquiry through to completion.

This Technical Sales Engineer / Area Account Manager position offers the chance to work with blue-chip manufacturers, attend industry exhibitions and contribute to continued business growth within the motion control and industrial automation market.

DUTIES
  • Business Development: Identifying and developing new sales opportunities across assigned territories
  • Account Management: Managing and growing relationships with existing customers
  • Technical Sales Support: Providing expert advice on servo gearboxes, motion control and mechanical automation products
  • Product Specification: Sizing and specifying servo motors, gearboxes and motion components
  • Sales Proposals: Preparing customer presentations, quotations and technical proposals
  • Project Management: Managing sales projects through the full sales cycle
  • Commercial Negotiation: Negotiating pricing and commercial terms
  • Market Engagement: Attending exhibitions, trade shows and technical events
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
  • A qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Engineering discipline (HNC, HND or Degree)
  • Previous experience in technical sales or account management
  • Experience with servo motors, gearboxes, motion control, automation or robotics
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A full UK driving licence
DESIRABLE
  • A background in industrial automation or mechanical engineering environments
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or blue-chip customers
