Overview

East Surrey Home Improvement Agency (HIA) seeks a Technical Officer to deliver bespoke disabled adaptations such as level-access showers, ramps, stair lifts and kitchen extensions. The role involves traveling to customers’ homes across our contract area, surveying, planning and overseeing adaptations to enable service users to live independently.

Responsibilities
  • Survey customers’ homes and assess adaptation requirements.
  • Plan and write specifications for building alterations.
  • Oversee contractors and manage project timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with building, planning and CDM regulations.
  • Maintain accurate database records and prepare reports.
Qualifications
  • Recognised building or construction qualification (ONC, HNC, BTEC) or equivalent evidence.
  • Experience in residential construction methods and surveying.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or other drawing packages.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
