Job summary

Job Overview

We are recruiting for a Technical Maintenance Supervisor to be responsible for planning work and coordinating directly employed labour and sub‑contractors at a large facility in the Manchester area. The role ensures all maintenance, repairs and ongoing condition of building services, associated systems, plant and equipment meet a high standard.

Responsibilities
  • Act as lead responsible for maintenance team performance.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to the maintenance team in delivering required service outcomes.
  • Work in accordance with statutory requirements, technical guidance and codes of practice.
  • Carry out duties safely and in line with safe working practices.
  • Ensure the electrical and mechanical teams receive necessary training specific to roles, regulations, guidance and policy.
  • Manage and supervise responsive and planned maintenance of plant and equipment through directly employed labour and external contractors.
  • Participate in the implementation of permit-to-work systems.
  • Use the helpdesk and CAFM system to manage the issuing and closing out of reactive and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Review RAMS specific to role and associated duties.
  • Ensure the maintenance team carries out planned preventative maintenance inspections and commissioning tests in accordance with procedures and schedules.
Requirements
  • Completed a recognised and accredited Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship.
  • Supervisory experience on large, complex sites.
  • Experience managing directly employed labour and contractors to deliver services.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory regulations specific to the role.
  • Experience managing PPM and reactive maintenance on a large complex site.
  • Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
  • Ability to contribute on occasion with hands‑on duties.
  • Experience operating CAFM systems.
