Job summary

A well-established food manufacturer in the United Kingdom is seeking a Technical Services Assistant to support various activities in their Technical Services department. The ideal candidate will hold a science-based degree, possess food safety and HACCP certifications, and have experience in technical administration within the food industry. This position offers a salary up to £35K depending on experience, and the opportunity to contribute to exciting growth in the company over the coming months.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in a science-based discipline, ideally food science.
  • Level 2-4 food safety qualification.
  • Level 2-4 HACCP certification.
  • Computer literate, proficient in MS Office.
  • Experience in Tech administration within the Food industry.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier approval procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Approve raw material specifications with suppliers.
  • Assist with technical queries from customers.
  • Manage customer complaints and liaise with manufacturing.
  • Complete product specifications for business and customers.
  • Assist with export documents and onsite vetting.

ROLE

BASED WARRINGTON, CHESHIRE

Purpose

This role is responsible for the assistance and coordination of all activities within the Technical Services department.

Reports to Technical Services Manager in a team of 5, 2 senior specs, 1 Technical admin.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the business supplier approval procedures in line with BRC and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and approve raw material specifications with suppliers
  • Assist in technical queries raised by customers and provide adequate responses in appropriate timelines
  • Manage complaints and respond to the customer in a timely manner, whilst liaising with manufacturing operations in their investigations, close outs and trends.
  • Completion of finished product specifications in both business and customer own formats
  • Completion of internal specifications for manufacturing site in business own format
  • Assist technical team with the export related documents preparation and accompany vet on site

CANDIDATE
  • Degree qualified in a science based discipline (ideally food science) or equivalent experience
  • Level 2-4 food safety, ideally in manufacturing
  • Level 2-4 HACCP
  • Computer literate including MS office software
  • Other industry specific qualifications would be favourable
  • Need someone with Tech admin experience in the Food industry
  • Customer experience is ideal

Mon-Fri 8:30am‑5pm (Can flex on hours in core if needed).

Salary up to £35K Dependant on experience.
