Technical Compliance Manager
Location: Based at the Cardiff office | Salary: Up to £45,000 (Depending on experience and possibly negotiable) | Hours of Work: Full-time
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Compliance Oversight
- Provide technical leadership across all service and maintenance operations.
- Ensure all engineering work meets current legislation, British Standards, and contractual requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance technical compliance frameworks aligned to ISO and health & safety standards.
- Lead audits, inspections, and compliance reviews, creating clear action plans for improvement.
- Maintain compliance documentation, training records, and certification databases, ensuring audit readiness.
Partnering with the Service Delivery Manager
- Work collaboratively to align operational performance with technical standards.
- Provide support to the Help‑desk and engineering teams in fault diagnosis and quoting.
- Identify recurring technical issues or training opportunities through service performance data.
Training, Competency & Development
- Identify skills gaps and deliver targeted training and competency assessments.
- Maintain a detailed Engineer Competency Matrix covering capability, accreditations, and training status.
- Deliver toolbox talks, technical workshops, and update sessions for engineers.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
- Lead quality reviews, ensuring completed works meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Analyse customer feedback and service trends to identify improvement opportunities.
- Drive corrective and preventive action programmes following audits or technical reviews.
- Support ISO and external audits across all technical activities.
Technical Support & Quoting
- Prepare and review quotes for small works and repairs.
- Provide pricing guidance and technical validation to the Help‑desk team.
Reporting & Insight
- Produce reports on technical compliance, audit outcomes, and engineer competency.
- Present technical summaries and improvement plans at management and client meetings.
- Use data insights to support technical strategy and planning.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a key point of contact for technical and compliance matters.
- Attend client meetings to provide updates on quality assurance and compliance.
- Support contract mobilisation to ensure technical readiness from day one.
Qualifications
- Experience in technical or compliance management within Fire, Security, or M&E services.
- Strong understanding of legislation, British Standards, compliance frameworks, and audits.
- Experience delivering training, managing competencies, and driving technical improvement.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across operational teams.
- Strong analytical skills and a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.
- Relevant technical qualifications (FIA, BAFE, NICEIC or equivalent) are desirable.
