Technical Buyer – Location: Dudley, DY1 4DA

Salary: Competitive

Contract: Full time, permanent - 40 hours per week

Our purpose is to work with customers to maintain operations, increase efficiency, reduce total cost of ownership, and secure asset performance gains.

We provide customers with quality round-the clock coverage for planned, predictive and reactive maintenance and repairs.

Our main workshop is in Dudley, the capital of the industrial Black Country, West Midlands. This 35,000 sq. ft. facility houses the latest machinery, testing equipment and central functions, with a satellite facility in King\'s Lynn, Norfolk, specialising in electric motor rewinding and pump performance testing.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting for a Technical Buyer to support sourcing and buying of materials and/or products needed for production.
• Ensure materials are purchased at a reasonable cost, within budget and delivered on time.
• Liase with suppliers and negotiate contracts while maintaining good relationships to secure favourable pricing and terms.
• Outsource products and services to sell to our customer base.
• Outsource engineering services.
• Forecast monthly sales for all outsourced goods/services.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods.
• Monitor delivery times in line with customer requirements.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Analyze market trends to determine the most competitive prices.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure better prices and terms.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies.
• Manage inventory levels and ensure adequate stock.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Update and maintain purchasing records and data.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Strong purchasing/buying experience with an engineering/MRO background
• Experience working within the commercial engineering sector
• A good understanding of Purchasing
• Reading and understanding engineering drawings
• Strong Excel skills
• Buying and negotiating skills
