We are looking for a Traffic Order Maker to join our highly talented, award winning and fast paced Traffic Order team within Liveable Places, supporting authorities across the country.

Liveable Places works with a wide range of local authority and private clients from across the UK to help them achieve their place making ambitions. We deliver a wide range of schemes from concept to delivery that include public realm, highway engineering, inclusive design, traffic engineering, road safety, traffic signals, pedestrian / traffic modelling, active travel and parking. We have had recent key successes with Westminster City Council, West Sussex County Council, East Sussex County Council, Leeds City Council, Cambridgeshire County Council, Richmond Council, Croydon Council, Redbridge Council, West of England Combined Authorities, National Highways and many, many more.

The Liveable Places team is based in offices across the country with over 200 staff, currently making up the team with further growth planned. We have a strong track record working closely with our clients and this role provides a great opportunity to have a pivotal role within Liveable Places and help support and steer its growth going forward.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing and promoting a range of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) such as moving traffic restrictions, parking and waiting and loading restrictions, Experimental Traffic Orders, to name a few.
  • Providing professional Traffic Order-related advice to clients and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting project managers to meet their project's financial performance goals.
  • Working with internal invoicing systems to help teams with the processing of invoices and tracking payments.
  • Developing and supporting strong client relationships by reporting to the client in detail on the results of public consultations with recommendations.
  • Taking a proactive role, keeping abreast of legislative changes relating to traffic and highways law, including researching and drafting replies as needed.
  • Responding to enquiries, managing project and financial trackers and reporting.
  • Developing and maintaining spreadsheets and databases for correspondence logs and progress reports.
  • Contributing to the development of effective information management systems.
  • Ensuring project managers compliance with documents in line with governance requirements and processes.
  • Coordination of project-related tasks, events and meetings.
  • Maintaining project-related files and documents.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn traffic order drafting and processes.
  • Experience with business administration, finance or customer services and proven ability to work as part of a team in a busy role, prioritising and responding to multiple demands.
  • A high level of competence in the use of spreadsheets and databases working with Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, along with proficient, confident, and skilled organisational, administrative and prioritisation skills.
  • Experience of developing and implementing systems and processes to help improve administrative management and service delivery.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and diary utilisation.
  • The role requires the ability to travel as occasional site visits will be necessary.
  • Proven ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Proven ability to successfully deliver projects and work well within a team.
