A local council in Greater London is seeking a dedicated professional for their Traffic & Compliance Team. The role requires managing various tasks to ensure the effective maintenance of the borough's highways. Candidates should have experience with Microsoft Office and Oracle databases, as well as familiarity with highways administration and local government legislation. This position is exclusively available to redeployees within Barnet Council. Important Note: This position is classified as Grade F. Only redeployees currently at Grade F or E are eligible to apply.

Working within the Traffic & Compliance Team, this role provides a fast paced and challenging workload. The team delivers the reactive maintenance service across the borough as required under The Highways Act 1980. Working on behalf of the Council, the team are responsible for identifying and overseeing all reactive maintenance of the Borough’s highways in relation to the carriageway, footway, and verge network. The team works closely with counsellors, contractors, and stakeholders in order to ensure all involved parties’ interests are met in line with Council policy. The post holder will be responsible for the effective management and administration of a number of tasks within the Traffic & Compliance team, including the S81 programme management, committing works orders, uploading diversions onto one.network and to ensure the projects are completed to programme, to standard and to budget.
You will be the go-to technical representative of the service for both the Street Works & Network Asset Team, work committing, S81 management, deposit refunds, and compliance including permits monitoring. You will be responsible for effective customer and stakeholder engagement and awareness, always providing customer service excellence.
