A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Team Leader with over 15 years of experience in the Transportation Industry to manage a team of approximately 35 professionals in their London office. You will oversee financial performance, drive operational excellence, and ensure the successful delivery of major projects. This role supports both public and private clients and requires strong leadership and communication skills. The company offers a hybrid working model and values work-life balance.

The Team Leader will likely be a qualified professional Civil Engineer or similar, with 15 yrs or more experience in the Transportation Industry. We are looking for someone to lead a team of circa. 35 people, locally within our London (Westferry Circus) office in addition to part of our attached Roads GCC team based in India (Bengaluru, Noida and Mumbai). The Team Leader will work alongside our complement of other UK Team Leaders and offices in the region: Cambridge, Basingstoke, Guildford and Southampton and is responsible for the development and operational performance of the team and its project portfolio, as part of the wider cost centre to meet regional budget targets and deliver projects. We support both public sector and private sector clients and this role will support major commissions, including, National Highways Scheme Delivery Framework (SDF) schemes and other Local Authority Frameworks, such as Hampshire County Council, Ealing Borough Council, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) and Cambridgeshire County Council.

Maintaining an overview of the financial performance for projects within your cost centre.
Drive operational excellence to achieve budget targets on utilisation.
Manage and monitor technical delivery to ensure ‘right first time’.
Line manage and develop members of the team to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Lead on business development activities to bring in new, sustainable opportunities for WSP.
Supporting and working with the Regional Director, London & South East and their goals for the cost centre.
Leading on projects to ensure technical quality and timely delivery.
