Overview

This role provides an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and start a career in higher education support services and administration. Based within the School of Natural Sciences Student Support Hub, the role will focus on supporting the Information, Advice and Guidance Team and the Student Support and Wellbeing teams in providing high quality administration and support to a wide range of students across the school at all levels of study. Support will include a range of activities including providing excellent advice and guidance on a multitude of matters to support studies and enhance the student experience. Tasks could include face to face and online support, using multiple systems and working in collaboration with colleagues to achieve common goals. Candidates should have an interest in supporting a broad range of teaching and learning and student experience initiatives which may include supporting wellbeing, employability, welcome week and graduation, academic advising, skills development, maintaining blackboard spaces and student engagement (including social media and events). There may also be opportunities from time to time in supporting various Teaching, Learning & Student Experience projects relating to our operations and strategies. The TLSE Assistant will be involved in a range of activities associated with the business of the Teaching, Learning & Student Experience teams responsible for the student experience and student support and wellbeing of our students. Based in the Student Support Hub, the post holder will be part of a student facing team, supporting students with queries at our busy reception, over the phone and via email, alongside supporting the administrative processes associated with the team.
