Our client, a highly respected educational institution in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join their team as a Full-time Teaching Assistant / Sports Coach. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the academic and athletic development of our students while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons across various subjects, with a particular focus on physical education and sports
  • Work closely with individual students or small groups to provide targeted support and guidance, ensuring they reach their full potential
  • Organise and lead sports activities, training sessions, and competitions, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming classroom and sports environment, adhering to school policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and extracurricular activities
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in education, sports science, or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching assistant qualification
  • Proven experience working with children or young adults in an educational or sports setting
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • Strong knowledge of various sports and physical education techniques
  • First Aid and safeguarding certifications (desirable)
