Role Overview

Leigh Academy Milestone is looking for passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants (PMLD) to join our special educational needs (SEN) team and support students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). In this rewarding role, you will work 1:1 and in small groups to help children with complex cognitive, physical, and sensory needs reach their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal care and medical needs of students.
  • Support students in swimming, PE, and outdoor activities such as Forest School.
  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support to meet individual learning goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement tailored learning plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and incidents.
Qualifications
  • GCSEs in English and Maths.
  • Experience working with young people, preferably in a SEN setting.
  • Enthusiasm, focus and resilience.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary £18,552 – £19,825 per annum for a permanent role of 31.75 hours per week (term time + 1 week inset).
