Job summary

A leading education recruitment agency is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant in Huyton, Knowsley to support phonics interventions in a primary school. The ideal candidate will have experience with Read Write Inc and will help create a nurturing atmosphere for EYFS/KS1 students. Responsibilities include working collaboratively with staff Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM beginning January 2026. Suitable applicants will have relevant qualifications or school experience and a DBS on the update service.

£425-450 per week (depending on experience/qualifications)

About the Role

Connex Education is working with a fantastic Primary School in the Huyton area who are recruiting for a full-time teaching assistant to join their team of staff. This role is primarily focusing on Read Write Inc phonics interventions in the school, so experience of RWI is essential in order to apply for this role. This role is Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:30, commencing in January 2026.

Qualifications and requirements
  • Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable, however those with relevant school experience, will be considered
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Read Write Inc training/experience
  • The ability to adapt to different learning
  • Knowledge of the EYFS/KS1 national curriculum
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN desirable
  • It is essential that you have a DBS on the update service, or willing to obtain a new one through Connex
