Teaching Assistant, Mainstream Primary School Walsall

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for General Classroom Teaching Assistants to work within mainstream primary schools across the Walsall area.

  • Location: Walsall
  • Position: General Classroom Teaching Assistant
  • Hours: 8:30 am–3:30 pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
  • Type of Work: General classroom support within a mainstream primary school
  • Contract/Position Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract Type: Long‑term, Short‑term, and Daily Supply
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full time
  • Minimum Rate of Pay: Negotiable
About the Role

These roles involve working closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of pupils across the primary age range. You will assist in delivering engaging lessons, providing one‑to‑one or small‑group support where needed, and promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment. We offer flexible opportunities including long‑term placements, short‑term cover, and daily supply work, ideal for experienced TAs or individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils learning under the guidance of the class teacher

  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional support
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience supporting children in a school or educational setting
  • A proactive, flexible, and supportive approach to learning
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A calm, patient, and encouraging manner
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) is desirable
Requirements to Work with Prospero Teaching
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold a valid, enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Provide two child‑related professional references covering the last two years
