Job summary

A newly opened independent school in Holbeach is seeking a teaching assistant to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The role involves close collaboration with a small group of pupils to promote their safety and wellbeing, while helping them manage their emotions and access learning. Ideal candidates will have an interest in working with children with additional needs and a willingness to commit to a permanent position working Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30.

The school caters for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and provides additional and personalised support and a tailored curriculum due to adverse childhood experiences. The school has a trauma‑informed approach to teaching and learning.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with a small group of 3 to 4 pupils alongside the class teacher to support and promote the safety and wellbeing of students in your class.
  • Help children regulate their emotions and behaviour and gently encourage them to access their learning.
  • Support pupils aged 11‑16 who at times display physical behaviours and require high resilience and a strong sense of empathy.
Requirements
  • Interest in a permanent role and willingness to work 08:30‑16:30 Monday to Friday.
  • Experience or interest in working with pupils with additional needs.
