Croughton All Saints CE Primary School is seeking to appoint a part-time (30 hpw) enthusiastic, suitably qualified Teaching Assistant.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/DESIRABLE
  • NVQ 2 in Supporting Learning and Learning, or equivalent. Or able to demonstrate the ability to meet the STL Level 2 National Occupational Standards relevant to this post.
  • GCSE Grade C or Level 2 qualifications in Maths/Numeracy and English/Literacy is desirable.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Motivating and encouraging the pupils as required by providing attention, modelling social interaction and supporting emotional regulation.
  • Liaising with class teacher, SENCO and other professionals about individual learning plans, contributing to the planning and delivery as appropriate.
  • Providing additional nurture to individuals when requested by the class teacher.
  • Consistently and effectively implementing agreed behaviour management strategies.
  • Helping to make appropriate resources to support the pupils.
  • Giving positive encouragement, feedback and praise to reinforce and sustain the pupils’ efforts and develop self-esteem.
  • Under the direction of the teacher, carry out and report on systematic observation of knowledge, understanding and skills upon which the teacher makes judgements about their stage of development.
  • Knowing and applying school policies on Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Teaching and Learning, Equal Opportunities etc.
  • Being aware of confidential issues linked to home/pupil/teacher/school.
  • Contributing towards reviews of the pupils’ progress as appropriate.
  • Taking part in training activities offered by the school to further knowledge and skills.
  • Accompanying teacher and pupils on educational visits.
