An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a dynamic suitably qualified teacher of Chemistry, who has a real passion for the subject and has the capability of inspiring, challenging and stimulating students. The post would equally suit an early career or experienced teacher who has obtained a good degree in Science. The ability or willingness to teach Chemistry at key stages 4 and 5 and general science at key stage 3 is desirable. For ECTs, three weeks' work in July is offered as an induction to the school. Under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, the Public Sector fluency duty requires state funded schools to ensure candidates for their customer facing roles have the necessary standard of spoken English.

Candidate Profile

At Vyners you will join a well‑established Science department and become part of a supportive and aspirational team. The Science Department is hard working, committed and flexible. It is well resourced and has excellent ICT resources to support learning. In KS4 students currently follow one of two pathways; GCSE Triple Science or GCSE Double Science. Science is a very popular subject at A Level with a high proportion of students continuing with one or more sciences in the sixth form and a strong tradition of progression to Higher Education. Vyners is a very popular and oversubscribed mixed eight form entry, 11‑18 comprehensive school, situated in a pleasant residential area in North West London, bordering Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. We have a track record of real success at all Key Stages. In 2025, 79 % of students achieved grades 9‑4 in both English and Maths at GCSE and we are consistently ranked in the top 10 % of all schools nationally for progress measures and attainment. At A‑Level 27 % of all grades were A; 57 % were A‑B. The school converted to academy status on 1 November 2011 and is part of the Vanguard Learning Trust which also includes one other secondary and three primary schools.
