A nurturing school for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in East Midlands seeks a qualified teacher to lead a class of up to 5 children. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience working with SEND and a passion for improving outcomes. The position offers a supportive staff environment focused on kindness and creativity, with a salary on the Main/Upper Pay Scale plus an additional SEN point.
Maple View School opened on 1st June 2020 and has recently been recognised as Outstanding in all areas. We are a small, nurturing school with capacity for just 18 children, including 7 residential placements, aged 6–16. Our pupils present with a range of needs, including Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties and Disabilities, Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties, and associated behavioural needs.
We are now seeking an additional qualified teacher with at least 2 years’ experience of working with children with SEND. The successful candidate will lead a class of up to 5 children, supported by Teaching Assistants/RSWs, as well as on-site SaLT and OT provision.

Our children follow individualised curriculum pathways—either semi-formal or formal —always focused on EHCP outcomes and preparation for life beyond Maple View. A typical day would include literacy, numeracy and PSHE, horticulture, small animal care, cooking, Outdoor School and community-based activities. Music, yoga start our day to support well-being and engagement.
