Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to join EY's specialist Private Tax team based in London. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work with our existing clients, build and expand their network, and contribute to winning new business. EY is investing in the Private Tax team and we are seeking experienced Tax Seniors with a proven track record of building trusted client relationships, developing a book of business, and delivering exceptional client service.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with clients
- Proactive business development to win new work
- Manage the successful delivery of technically complex consulting projects for clients, ensuring technical excellence and a practical, business-driven approach
- Provide development support to junior team members through effective supervision, coaching and mentoring
- Contribute to people initiatives, including retaining and training our team
- Operate with a client-driven, strategic, and commercially aware mindset
- Demonstrate strong tax technical skills
- Demonstrate strong client relationship management skills with the ability to develop quality outputs for clients
- Possess negotiation skills and the ability to sustain position and handle challenges
- Demonstrate business development skills to identify and convert opportunities to sell work
- Manage time effectively, remain composed under pressure, and meet deadlines
- Communicate clearly in written and verbal form
- Provide advice across a range of entities (e.g., AIM-listed, PE-backed, family-owned and OMBs)
Qualifications
- ACA / CTA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course / Law qualification / Tax specialist qualification or breadth of knowledge equivalent to a Tax specialist qualification
- Strong tax technical skills
- Business development skills, with the ability to identify and convert opportunities to sell work
- Experience coaching and developing junior staff
- Project management skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, meet deadlines and manage budgets
- Creative and pragmatic problem-solving abilities
