Job description

The issues surrounding tax and legal services are constantly evolving, both locally and globally. Our Tax and Law experts are at the forefront of providing a range of specialist tax and legal knowledge and technologies to empower businesses. This is why you'll find KPMG the perfect place for you to build your expertise, progress your career and make your mark.

Our tax professionals have an impact on some of the most pressing global challenges of the day, such as climate change, incentives and transparency. We offer real scale and size in terms of the range of tax solutions we offer clients. Our services span: International Tax, Deal Advisory Tax and Transfer Pricing; Business Taxes, covering advisory, compliance, claims and incentives and transformation; People Taxes, advising on all aspects of employee reward, tax issues arising as a result of having a global workforce as well as advising high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurial families; and Indirect Taxes.

In KPMG Law, we have a global legal network with more than 3,750 legal professionals, operating across more than 80 countries. Our lawyers have expertise across all key areas of law including corporate, commercial, data privacy, competition, employment, real estate, and tax law, as well as having best in-class capabilities in legal operations transformation, legal technology implementation, and managed services delivery. As part of our legal team, you’ll benefit from our multi-disciplinary approach, working alongside KPMG’s tax, consulting, and deal advisory professionals, to deliver rounded business-based solutions.

Wherever you join us, you'll find we value unique perspectives and welcome people from a wide variety of professional backgrounds. If you're a creative thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit, who wants to help us leverage deep expertise on a global scale, this is your opportunity to work on a range of high impact and engaging projects.

In your role, you’ll be supported to work flexibly across your region – at engagement sites, our offices and home. You'll have access to the latest trends to further hone your skills, as well as the support of leadership and a collaborative work community to help you develop your career. Life in this part of our firm is full of opportunities.

New domestic laws, international reform, updated processes and technology. All of these things mean tax is becoming ever-more complex and that demand for our services is rising rapidly. Tax has also sharply risen up the public and political agenda in recent years, with a noticeable shift towards increased transparency and tougher scrutiny by government authorities across the world.

Working in our Corporate Tax teams, you'll help your corporate clients adopt responsible and sustainable approaches to tax that will not only deliver compliance, but also support their wider commercial objectives and enhance their growth. You can look forward to working alongside the best technical specialists, sector and industry experts to add value in a range of areas, including Global Compliance and Transformation, Corporate Tax Advisory and Compliance, International Tax, Transfer Pricing, Deal Advisory Tax and Claims & Incentives across all sectors and markets.

With a UK network of more than 200 Indirect Tax specialists, supported by a global network of 1,500 professionals across over 100 countries, we're home to one of the UK's leading Indirect Tax practices. Our diverse portfolio of household names and smaller clients covers sectors such as; Financial Services, B2B, B2C, Real Estate, Private Equity and many others. We frequently work collaboratively with other KPMG services.

Join us, and you'll provide advice and support across a range of issues – our expertise spans the various indirect schemes in the UK, including VAT, customs and green taxes. That will involve working closely with your clients to understand their businesses, ensure they meet their indirect tax obligations and manage any issues arising from the application of relevant legislation. Whatever your role, you can expect to make a significant impact as you advise clients on how indirect taxes affect their cash flow and, crucially, their bottom line.

Now more than ever, we need to support our clients to adapt in a rapidly-changing business and legal landscape. Side-by-side, we're reimaging law, working with them to navigate uncertainty - where through disruption, we see possibilities. We're looking for colleagues to join our network of legal professionals who are self-starters, able to drive commercial value, seek opportunity and deliver digitally-driven solutions that help our clients evolve and thrive in a new world.

Our integrated approach allows us to supply rounded legal solutions as we're able to apply our deep industry knowledge and commercial insight from our wider practice - all underpinned by our innovative use of technology.

All of this supported by a global legal network operating in over 80 countries with access to more than 3,750 legal professional colleagues worldwide. You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and cases, for some of the world's leading companies. And as we're going through a rapid period of growth, this means more opportunities for you to develop your career in the direction you choose, at the right time for you with flexible working opportunities. We'll value your contribution as you play a key role in the whole project lifecycle - everything from strategy to implementation. Most importantly of all, as part of KPMG Law, you're encouraged to be yourself. Join us, and reimagine your career as a truly business oriented legal professional at KPMG Law.

In a constantly changing and high-profile field, our national People Taxes practice offers a broad range of career paths. The practice encompasses a wide range of areas across three teams:

Our Global Mobility Services (GMS) team provides a single source of advisory and compliance experience covering all aspects of global mobility and international assignments. Employment Solutions (ES) spans Reward Consulting, Employment Solutions and Pensions, delivering services ranging from payroll and HMRC compliance through to valuation services. We also have a Technology team that provides tools to support clients in the areas of both GMS and ES. Life in these dynamic teams means working alongside tax, technology, reward and communication professionals, as well as with other KPMG teams. You can expect to apply a broad range of approaches to tackle diverse issues covering local and global workforce challenges. We'll make sure you have access to the innovative technology that will ensure you can also add value, even in the context of a constantly evolving legislative, business and political landscape. This team is a stimulating, exciting and rewarding place to build a successful career.

Our Family Office, Private Client and Reward (FOPC&R) team provides support for high-net-worth individuals, trustees, executors and shareholders in both advisory and compliance matters; multijurisdictional advice on residence and ‘non-domicile’ matters, reward consulting services; and tax valuations. This is a constantly changing and increasingly high-profile field which will open up plenty of possibilities for your ongoing development and progression. Life in this team gives you the opportunity to develop relationships with a variety of clients, from the executives of multinational firms through to professional sports people, entertainers and senior members of private equity firms. The work you do will be varied too, covering a mix of advice and compliance services.

Technology is at the forefront of delivering excellence for our clients. Our Tax Technology and Innovation (TT&I) team delivers technology and services to colleagues across our Tax and Law teams, as well as to external clients.

We design and deliver data and automation solutions to our clients and KPMG business areas using in-house and third party technology tools.

For our colleagues, we enable management and analysis of data, optimise and automate processes to deliver efficiency and manage engagement support work. For our clients and communities, we help identify, determine and fulfil tax, duty and similar obligations. We do this efficiently and ethically, using cutting edge technology.

We manage technology as a strategic resource, applied at all stages of the client lifecycle. We use technology to generate competitive advantage for KPMG, and securely unleash the power of our data. Our team includes specialists in solutions and automation, product development, application support, operational excellence, software engineering and quality assurance.
