Job description
Overview

The post holder will provide care coordination and family/systemic therapy to young people within Newham CAMHS. They will contribute to the effective functioning of the MDT and provide both clinical and management supervision.

Responsibilities
  • You will join the Adolescent Mental Health Team (AMHT), a community-based, multidisciplinary team that operates using the Care Programme Approach. The AMHT includes psychiatry, psychology, nursing, and family therapy, and is a highly effective and supportive team within a thriving CAMHS service.
  • This role will involve supporting Early Intervention in Psychosis for 13 to 18-year-olds, as well as assessing and treating young people with severe emotional and mental health difficulties, including those presenting with high-risk behaviour. You will hold a caseload and collaborate with other team members, as well as work independently.
  • As a family therapist, you will offer family, parent, and individual therapeutic interventions, while also supporting the MDT in formulating young people\'s presentations within a systemic context.
  • In addition, the post holder will be responsible for the clinical supervision of Band 7 family therapists and may provide line management.
  • You will also participate in the AMHT duty rota, supporting young people held within the team.
  • The role will involve supporting the Operational Lead and Senior Nurse in managing the team and developing interfaces with partner services, both community-based and inpatient.
  • Opportunities to contribute to the CAMHS Family Therapy clinic will be available.
  • The post holder will also be encouraged to participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives within CAMHS.
