  • Liaise with design, construction, and subcontractor teams to ensure safety assurance activities are properly planned and executed.
  • Review and assess deliverables from internal and external providers for compliance, quality, and completeness.
  • Deliver briefings and awareness sessions on System Safety and Interoperability practices to project and subcontractor teams.
  • Support the development of project-wide competency in safety and interoperability assurance.
  • Act as the primary interface for all System Safety and Interoperability matters with HS2 and appointed Independent/Notified Bodies.
  • Produce and maintain reports covering progress, risks, and assurance status for senior leadership and HS2 stakeholders.
  • Support the Head of Technical Assurance, Quality and Compliance in managing relationships with assurance and certification bodies.
  • Integrate PRAM and CDM activities related to system safety and interoperability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in technical assurance processes and systems.

  • Significant experience in System Safety and Interoperability assurance within major railway or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and safety standards within UK rail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to articulate complex safety and systems engineering concepts clearly.
  • Broad understanding of multidisciplinary systems integration and assurance dependencies.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and information management skills.
  • Competent user of MS Office, ProjectWise, and other collaborative project management tools.
