Qualifications

  • 2 years experience in construction, M&E, facilities management or engineering sectors preferred.
  • Familiarity with UK, Irish and EU ESG regulations (e.g. SECR, CSRD).
  • Experience in ESG reporting, data collection and compliance systems.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report energy use, emissions, waste and water across sites.
  • Support carbon reduction planning aligned with net-zero targets.
  • Coordinate audits for ISO compliance.
  • Engage suppliers to improve green procurement.
  • Track and report social value for public sector contracts.

We’re looking for a Sustainability Specialist to support the delivery and reporting of our Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) strategies across our mechanical and electrical operations. This role plays a key part in embedding sustainable practices into our projects and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations across all jurisdictions.

As a driving force behind our sustainability agenda you will help steer our organisation toward its net zero targets championing innovative solutions and responsible practices throughout our operations.

Key Responsibilities
Environmental Stewardship
  • Monitor and report energy use emissions waste and water across sites
  • Support carbon reduction planning aligned with SECR CSRD VSSR and net‑zero targets
  • Coordinate audits for ISO 14001 ISO 50001 and ISO 14064 compliance
  • Promote sustainable construction practices (e.g. BREEAM)
  • Engage suppliers to improve green procurement and validate sustainability measures (e.g. SBTi)
Social Impact
  • Support health & wellbeing initiatives for employees and subcontractors
  • Track and report social value especially for public sector contracts (e.g. UK PPN 06 / 20)
  • Promote diversity inclusion and community engagement
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards including the Modern Slavery Act
Governance & Reporting
  • Develop ESG policies dashboards and reporting frameworks
  • Support supplier vetting and sustainable procurement alignment
  • Contribute to ESG disclosures (e.g. GRESB CDP) and internal reporting
  • Prepare sustainability reports presentations and marketing materials
  • Train staff and raise awareness of sustainable practices
Qualifications
  • Degree in Environmental Science Engineering Sustainability or a related field
  • Professional membership or training (e.g. IEMA NEBOSH Environmental ISO 14001 Auditor) desirable
  • 2 years experience in construction M&E facilities management or engineering sectors preferred
  • Familiarity with UK Irish and EU ESG regulations (e.g. SECR CSRD GPP)
  • Experience in ESG reporting data collection and compliance systems
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Proficient in carbon footprint tools Power BI and Excel
