Overview

Sustainability Consultant. Location: Oxford. Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 plus DOE. A multi-award winning engineering consultancy is seeking a driven and passionate Sustainability Consultant to join its team in Oxford.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver environmental and wellbeing assessments (e.g., BREEAM, WELL, HQM) from early design through to completion and post-construction stages.
  • Embodied carbon calculations and circular economy consultancy.
  • Building performance simulations, including operational energy forecasting and overheating analysis.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement sustainability and energy strategies for new and existing developments.
  • Support the development and mentoring of junior team members through consultancy, workstream management and project planning.
  • Participate in R&D initiatives, sector-wide research, contribute to best practice guidance, and shape industry standards.
Qualifications
  • Experience in the built environment, ideally in sustainability or engineering consultancy.
  • A relevant degree in engineering, environmental science or related discipline.
  • Strong technical foundation with a passion for sustainable design and innovation.
  • Knowledge/experience in: Energy Performance Modelling (IES VE), Whole Life Carbon Assessments (embodied carbon, OneClick LCA), Net Zero Carbon Strategies, Environmental and Wellbeing assessments (BREEAM, WELL), Circular Economy principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
