A support service organization seeks a caring and empathic support worker for Clair, who aims for greater independence. The role involves providing emotional reassurance and support in engaging activities, particularly dog walking. Ideal candidates should have strong emotional intelligence and good communication skills. The organization offers competitive salaries, an award-winning pension scheme, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Clair is looking for a support worker. She loves animals, especially dogs, and aims to be a dog walker in the future. She enjoys beach walks, the countryside, and has a strong interest in 80’s music.
Clair has spent a lot of her life in a long-stay hospital and sometimes needs support to adjust to having her own home. She already has a great team and is looking for additional staff to support her in the next chapter of her life—towards greater independence and confidence.
Clair is very independent, so there is minimal home-support need beyond reassurance around emotions and help to make sense of them. She has Autism and can find the world confusing or frustrating at times. When she is happy, she is great company and enjoys getting out and about, dog walking, and the 80’s vibe and music. She seeks caring, empathic support staff who can understand the journey she has been on.
You should have a mature outlook with a good level of emotional intelligence, not take things personally, and be prepared to work with Clair to help her reach her potential. This is a rewarding role with full training that supports both personal and professional development.
