Support Worker

Location: Exeter
Rate: £15.66 per hour
Contract: Temporary - ongoing

We are currently working with a well-established housing and support provider who is looking to appoint a Support Worker on a temporary ongoing basis in Exeter.
This is a frontline role supporting vulnerable customers within supported accommodation and/or through visiting support in the community. The post holder will play a key role in promoting independence, safeguarding, and positive outcomes for service users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred support to customers in line with individual support and safety plans
  • Support customers with housing and tenancy-related issues, including ASB, welfare benefits, budgeting and financial inclusion
  • Identify, manage and escape safeguarding concerns in line with policy and procedure
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals to support customer journeys
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using relevant case management and housing systems
  • Carry out risk assessments, lone working, and health & safety checks
  • Support customers with practical and emotional needs, including access to education, employment and community engagement
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful service environment
Requirements
  • Experience or a strong understanding of working with people with support needs
  • Knowledge of supported housing, safeguarding, welfare benefits and person-centred support
  • Ability to manage risk, work independently, and prioritise a varied caseload
  • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Strong communication, organisation and report-writing skills
  • Willingness to work flexibly and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience working with customer groups such as young people, individuals with mental health needs, substance misuse, domestic abuse, or those at risk of homelessness would be advantageous
