A transport authority is seeking a Support Statistician / Analyst to support their Network Analysis & Statistics team in Birmingham. This role involves producing reports on road network performance, contributing to traffic analysis, and responding to data requests. Candidates should demonstrate strong numerical skills and knowledge of statistical computing tools like Python and SQL. A relevant qualification in a numerical discipline is required. Occasional travel will be necessary, and the company values diversity in their hiring process.
As a Support Statistician / Analyst you will be responsible for supporting the Network Analysis & Statistics team to produce high-quality analytical outputs. This helps us provide the evidence for people within National Highways to make informed decisions.
You will be involved in the production of regular reports detailing the performance of our road network; you will contribute to bespoke pieces of analysis on traffic flows and delays, road user safety and customer satisfaction; and provide administrative support to the team. As part of the Network Analysis & Statistics team, you will develop the knowledge, skills and competence to follow an analytical career in National Highways with the purpose of progressing into a specialist role.
Location: Birmingham, Exeter, Guildford or Manchester. Occasional travel to other National Highways locations and key external stakeholder offices will be required.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
