Agency Job Advert: Primary Supply Teacher – Lambeth & Southwark

Position: Primary Supply Teacher (Daily / Day‑to‑day)
Location: Lambeth & Southwark, London
Contract Type: Temporary – Day‑to‑day / Short‑term / Flexible
Pay Rate: £150‑£200 per day

Overview

We are a specialist education recruitment agency working across Lambeth and Southwark. We place supply teachers for daily cover, ensuring that teacher absences are filled by qualified, reliable professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑quality cover for primary classes across Early Years, KS1, and KS2.
  • Deliver existing lesson plans and manage the day‑to‑day class environment.
  • Be flexible – stepping into new schools and classes, sometimes at short notice.
  • Uphold school policies (behaviour, safeguarding, etc.) and maintain consistency.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check (ideally on the Update Service) or willingness to acquire one.
  • Strong classroom management skills; ability to adapt quickly to different school settings.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive, positive attitude.
  • Previous primary teaching experience or supply experience is a plus (but not always essential).

  • We liaise with schools to confirm they are happy with the supply teacher's credentials.
  • We adhere to the Agency Workers' Regulations, ensuring fair treatment of agency workers. In particular, schools in Southwark must ensure agency staff checks are equivalent to those done for their permanent staff.
