My client is a 4PL service provider which develops its own transport management software. This privately-owned business has grown by 15-20% year on year working for quality brands in Manufacturing, Engineering, Packaging and Automotive globally. The business provides a unique mix of technical excellence and logistics expertise that improves service and creates sustainable savings for its customers.

As Supply Chain and Logistics Manager Transport and Distribution you will be responsible for the whole customer experience, including operational delivery of transport planning and customers service, project management, continuous improvement and €200m worth of carrier management services. The team is based across the UK, Europe and North America.

You’ll be responsible for the performance of the company achieving results for the board’s overall strategy. You will lead a large team to drive processes and improvement within a fast paced environment to ensure excellent service levels are being met. You will lead, coach & develop end engage with senior managers to ensure ‘best in class processes’ are implemented and the organisational vision is set out. You will identify business growth opportunities and ensure innovative business solutions are developed to drive business forward.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementation of a transport strategy for the UK that will enable the business to meet its functional and commercial goals for the future
  • Management of a transport team responsible for all of the transport scheduling and administration
  • Implementation of a set of KPI`s that will compliment the business model, provide direction for process improvements and provide better leverage when influencing stakeholders
  • Accountability for compliance and H&SE across the supply chain
  • Project management as and when required
  • Formulating and successfully implementing company policy
