Job summary

A leading staffing firm in the UK is seeking a Production Leader to oversee day-to-day operations in a production environment. The successful candidate will provide front-line leadership, focusing on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include supervising employees, driving safety improvements, and monitoring production metrics. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential. Experience in assembly operations or the electronic/PPE industries is preferred. This position is based on-site in Skelmersdale.

Qualifications

  • Experience in assembly operations (manual and automatic).
  • Background in the electronic or PPE industries.
  • Understanding of safe operations (manual handling, LOTO, COSHH).

Job description

The Production Leader will work under the guidance of the Operations Manager alongside fellow Production Area Leaders. They will direct day to day operations, primarily focused on ensuring we 'win the day' in terms of safety, quality, service, cost and engagement. An element of the role will be forward looking, driving improvements in the area, striving towards operational excellence and reducing costs. On a day to day basis they will:

  • Provide front line leadership and supervision to the production employees within your department
  • Identify and drive safety improvements, working with crews to raise and close safety actions. Ensure Risk Assessments are relevant and up to date for all processes within the area.
  • Establish an effective Tier 1 meeting and coach operators on first line problem resolution and quality conformance.
  • Run Tier 2, monitoring production rates, yields, quality, costs and order status

Attend and collate reports/productivity, outputs etc for Tier 3
