Job Role: Electrical Supervisor

Location: HMP High Down

Salary: £46,775.42 + an additional £2,500 in allowances per year
+ an additional 5% basic salary in recognition of shift and weekend working

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at HMP High Down, a category C male adult prison.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time‑bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for a Electrical Supervisor with any combination of:

  • Five years’ experience as an electrician or equivalent
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical, building services
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Full driving license preferably with D1
  • C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
  • Certificate in BS7671 – The Requirements For Electrical Installations
  • 17th or 18th Edition
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.

Future Plans

GFSL has been notified by its shareholder (MOJ) that the provision of FM services will in future be delivered by the private sector. This means that following a successful procurement process, GFSL's services will complete transfer to a private sector provider/providers no sooner than August 2027.
