Overview

At Dalcour Maclaren, we help the UK and Ireland move closer to Net Zero by unlocking the consents needed for key utilities and infrastructure projects. Our land, environmental and geospatial experts work together to deliver land access and assembly, agricultural liaison, planning, environmental impact assessments and geospatial mapping.

Placement Surveyor Programme

The 12‑month Placement Surveying Programme offers comprehensive exposure to surveying within Utilities & Infrastructure. You will work on live projects, learn from industry experts, network, and develop the technical and professional skills needed for a career while contributing to your academic fulfilments.

Responsibilities
  • Negotiate access agreements and manage compensation claims for landowners.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and minimise the impact of projects on agricultural land and rural properties.
  • Act as an intermediary between clients and landowners, overseeing effective land access and management.
  • Support the delivery of land and property advice to a range of clients.
  • Assist with heads of terms and contractual agreements with stakeholders.
  • Put up notices to inform land owners of client schemes.
  • Review and advise on land conditions, undertake schedules of condition of private land.
  • Visit sites to monitor project progress and witness tangible impact.
  • Assess financial impact of infrastructure projects, agree compensation claims and perform valuation of land, property, agricultural losses and general disturbances.
  • Support tenancy agreements and ensure legal compliance.
  • Problem‑solve with the DM team and clients to advise on risks and reach solutions.
Qualifications
