A leading charity supporting mental health in Wigan is seeking a Substance Misuse Nurse to provide recovery care. Responsibilities include planning detoxification support and establishing community programs. Ideal candidates will have current NMC registration and a passion for helping service users. As a leading charity supporting people with drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges, we operate over 80 services across England and Scotland, providing free and confidential support to more than 100,000 people each year. Our vibrant services in Wigan and Leigh provide support to people concerned about their own or someone else’s alcohol or drug use. We have services in both Wigan and Leigh but much of our work is carried out in the local communities we serve.
Join us as a Substance Misuse Nurse in Wigan. Our team are recruiting for an experienced Substance Misuse Nurse to provide high quality recovery care to a diverse service user group. You will be an enthusiastic and creative registered nurse, passionate about changing people\'s lives for the better.
Postholder duties include providing a range of health and wellbeing and harm reduction interventions to service users, in accordance with the agreed model of service delivery. You will plan, coordinate and support appropriate detoxification from drugs and/or alcohol, assess the needs of service users and implement and evaluate care plans. It is vital to develop strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders and commissioners for continuity of service, as well as leading on providing community detoxification programmes, clinics and groups.
