Job summary

A leading contractor in the water sector is seeking an experienced Sub Agent for a 10-month assignment in Birmingham. The role involves assisting in on-site operations, coordinating teams, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Ideal candidates have experience in water, utilities, or heavy civils, with strong leadership and communication skills. Qualifications such as SMSTS/SSSTS and CSCS are preferred. This position operates outside IR35 and can accept employment on CIS or LTD basis.

Qualifications

Job description

A leading contractor within the water and utilities sector is looking for an experienced Sub Agent to support the delivery of a major civils programme in Birmingham. This is a 10‑month assignment operating outside IR35, available on a CIS or LTD basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Agent in managing day-to-day on-site operations
• Coordinate engineers, subcontractors and suppliers
• Oversee quality assurance, technical delivery and site documentation
• Ensure all works comply with health and safety procedures, RAMS and quality standards

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sub Agent or Senior Engineer within water, utilities or heavy civils environments
• Strong understanding of pipelines, drainage, treatment works or related civils packages
• SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications preferred
• Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills
• Ability to start immediately or at short notice
