Service context: This is an exciting opportunity to join our new Student Wellbeing Partnership Service as a Student Wellbeing Adviser. The service works in partnership with colleges and academic departments to provide holistic wellbeing support to students, focusing on promoting positive wellbeing, prevention and early intervention, awareness raising and promotional campaigns, targeted group interventions for specific cohorts and communities, and mild to moderate short-term mental health interventions and advice.
Role purpose: You will provide high-quality wellbeing and/or mental health support through proactive and preventative interventions and campaigns, group sessions and events, and student one-to-one sessions. The aim is to help students have positive experiences, feel included and valued, and ensure an integrated and consistent approach to wellbeing support across university departments and colleges through a business partner model. The Service is responsible for identifying and supporting students who may require short-term additional support, including those from non-traditional backgrounds or with enhanced needs, to help maximise student success.
Team context: Our team of Student Wellbeing Advisers comprises a blend of roles with different skills and expertise. No formal qualifications are required, but training for a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) qualification or equivalent is available and funded by the University. Contribute to awareness raising and promotional campaigns and help deliver a holistic approach to wellbeing across colleges and departments.
Support the identification and early intervention for students who may require short-term additional support.
Collaborate with teams across the university to ensure an integrated wellbeing approach and equity of access for all students.
