Overview

Student Learning Coaches - SEND

Hours are Monday - Thursday – 8.45-5.00pm and Friday 8.45am – 4.45pm. Term Time only. Starting salary £21,189.60 per annum (actual). Location: Harlow College. Permanent.

What the role entails

To provide learning support to students as appropriate, to enable them to fulfil their potential to achieve e.g. clarifying content, making simple notes, differentiating materials, improving their ability to manage their own learning needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide learning support to students to enable them to reach their potential on their course.
  • Clarify content and assist with note-taking and differentiation of materials.
  • Support learners with additional needs and advocate for SEND students.
  • Support and learn how the further education sector works, working with various subject areas.
What we are looking for
  • A desire to work with young people with SEND needs and strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Educated to a minimum of Maths & English at Grade 4/Grade C.
  • A highly motivated, organised individual who can work autonomously and calmly under pressure.
  • Good communication with people of all ages and backgrounds; positive and inclusive manner; solution focused.
