Job summary

Larkmead School in Abingdon is seeking a passionate SENDCO to lead SEND and inclusion provision from January 2027. Working with the Headteacher, you will ensure high-quality, personalised support for pupils with SEND and enable excellent progress within a supportive, inclusive ethos.

You will coordinate EHCPs, guide teachers and learning support, liaise with families and external agencies, and monitor impact of interventions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
• A recognised SENDCO qualification ( NASENCO or NPQ SENDCO ).
• Proven experience as SENDCO or senior inclusion leadership.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory frameworks.
• Exceptional communication, organisational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Direction: Oversee and develop the school's SEND strategy, policy, and graduated approach.
• Provision Coordination: Manage EHCPs and annual reviews for SEND pupils.
• Staff Guidance & Development: Coach and train teachers and support staff.
• Multi-Agency Working: Liaise with parents, psychologists, therapists, and LA professionals.
• Monitoring & Evaluation: Track progress and evaluate impact of interventions.
