Job summary

Kempston Rural Primary School is seeking an experienced SENDCO to join the leadership team and drive inclusive practice across the whole school. The role requires strategic leadership, strong communication and a commitment to raising outcomes for all pupils with additional needs.

You will work with staff, parents and external partners to ensure effective provision, intervention planning and robust SEND governance, while supporting staff development and school improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status is essential.
• NASENCO Award or NPQ for SENCOs, or currently undertaking the qualification.
• Extensive experience with SEND across a range of needs.
• Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice, Equality Act and related guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead inclusion and SEND provision across the school.
• Collaborate with staff, parents, governors and external agencies to remove barriers to learning.
• Strategically shape and evaluate SEND provision and school improvement priorities.
• Develop and support staff through coaching, mentoring and professional development.
