Job summary

West Leigh Infant School seeks a dynamic SENDCo to lead and develop SEND provision from January 2027. The successful candidate will work with families and external professionals to secure inclusive practice and strong outcomes for pupils.

We are looking for an experienced SENDCo or excellent classroom practitioner with a strong commitment to SEND and inclusion. The role requires strategic leadership, organisation, and the ability to meet statutory deadlines.

Qualifications

• Be passionate about inclusion and securing the best possible outcomes for pupils.
• Experience of leading SEND provision and coordinating support for pupils with SEND.
• Experience writing, reviewing and managing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or demonstrate capacity to do so.
• Experience of effective multi-agency working with educational psychologists, speech and language therapists and other professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for SEND and develop provision across the school.
• Work closely with families and external professionals to secure high-quality inclusive practice and strong pupil outcomes.
• Support colleagues to strengthen inclusive classroom practice and SEND provision and monitor progress.
