Job summary

Larkmead School in Abingdon is seeking a passionate SENDCO to lead our SEND and inclusion provision from January 2027. Working with the Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, teachers, parents and external agencies, you will ensure that our pupils with SEND receive high-quality, personalised support and make excellent progress.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status in the UK.
• Recognised SENDCO qualification (NASENCO or NPQ SENDCO).
• Proven SENDCO or senior inclusion leadership experience.
• Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory frameworks.
• Strong communication, organisational and leadership abilities.
• Genuine vocation and commitment to inclusive education.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Direction: Oversee SEND strategy, policy and graduated approach (Assess, Plan, Do, Review).
• Provision Coordination: Manage EHCPs and annual reviews.
• Staff Guidance & Development: Coach and train teachers and support staff for adaptive teaching.
• Multi-Agency Working: Liaise with parents, educational psychologists, therapists and local authorities.
• Monitoring & Evaluation: Track progress and impact of interventions.
