Job description

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented stores person to join a dynamic team at one of our clients in Hebburn. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the efficient flow of goods and materials through the supply chain, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to their customers. As a key player in their warehouse operations, you will coordinate with various stakeholders, address logistical challenges, and continuously seek opportunities to enhance their processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stores management, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a drive to make any necessary improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure on time receipt and inspection of all incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and quality (including visual quality inspection).
  • Ensure material is picked, packed and put away in allocated storage areas, ensuring that stock is rotated (if required – FIFO) and that product is labelled and safe.
  • Schedule and monitor pickup and delivery times with transportation providers, ensuring prompt and proper movement of shipments including any internal documentation.
  • Perform regular monitoring audits in conjunction with site HSE.
  • Ensure that SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) are adhered to and support audits and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure that all material leaving stores is signed for and allocated.
  • Work with finance regarding goods inwards queries and invoice queries relating to goods receipted.
  • Ensure accurate stock checks are carried out (cycle/cadence checks) to keep inventory accurate.
  • Ensure any and all miscellaneous material transactions are accounted for.
  • Monitor inventory levels where applicable.
  • Ensure materials to be issued to suppliers are picked, packed and shipped on time with all relevant paperwork completed, ensuring material is booked off stock prior to shipping.
Communication and Liaison
  • Work with PMO, PM, and Procurement regarding orders.
  • Ensure stakeholders are notified when deliveries are made (direct and indirect).
  • Facilitate and support finance with delivery enquiries.
Problem‑Solving
  • Address shipping and inventory issues for stakeholders.
  • Support internal audits.
  • Develop solutions for logistical challenges such as delays or damaged goods.
  • Implement contingency plans when disruptions occur in the logistics management process.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to stock moves.
  • Monitor compliance with regulations and industry standards, such as safety and environmental regulations.
HSE Compliance
  • Conduct regular HSE audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Implement corrective actions to mitigate identified risks and ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
