Job summary

A prominent aerospace provider in Greater London is seeking a highly organised Stores Person to manage the handling of aircraft components. The role involves ensuring compliance with aviation traceability and safety standards, processing Goods In/Goods Out activities, and supporting logistics. Candidates should have basic computer skills, experience in aviation or regulated warehousing, and ideally training in overhead crane and forklift operation. This is a full-time, onsite position within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

Our client, a prominent provider in the aerospace sector, is seeking a highly organised and proactive Stores Person to join their Landing Gear MRO facility. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of aircraft components-particularly landing gear assemblies and related hardware-whilst upholding stringent aviation safety and traceability standards. Your contribution will directly support maintenance operations, ensuring technicians receive the right parts at the right time to keep aircraft safe and operational.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the end-to-end handling of aircraft and landing gear components, including accurate picking, packing, issuing, returning, and storage of parts in full compliance with aviation traceability requirements.
  • Process all Goods In/Goods Out activities, verifying certification, part numbers, quantities, and condition, and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in the inventory management system.
  • Store, label, and segregate components correctly, applying aviation standards for shelf-life control, hazardous materials, bonded storage, quarantine procedures, and part preservation to prevent damage or contamination.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures, maintaining an audit-ready warehouse and promptly reporting any discrepancies, damage, or non-conforming materials.
  • Support logistics and material movement, including preparing shipments to regulatory standards, operating lifting equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet truck, overhead crane), and collecting/delivering materials as required.
  • Contribute to inventory accuracy, assisting with stock checks, cycle counts, and coordinating closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Engineering teams to ensure timely part availability.
  • Promote continuous improvement, supporting LEAN practices and maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient working environment.
  • Provide operational support to colleagues, including training personnel in Stores processes (where qualified) and assisting across different warehouse functions as needed.
  • Undertake any additional duties assigned by the Stores Team Leader to meet operational and production requirements.
Job Requirements:
  • Basic computer literacy and numeracy skills; experience with inventory or ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience in an aviation maintenance or regulated warehousing environment is advantageous.
  • Overhead crane and forklift operation experience desirable (training/certification can be provided).
  • Must have the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK.
  • Ability to pass background checks required for working in a known consignor area (if applicable).
