Location: St Ives (PE27)
Duration: Permanent
Hours: 8am until 4:45pm Monday to Thursday with a 12:30pm finish on Friday

Polytec are looking for a detail‑oriented Stores Operative to join our St Ives based client to support their production and logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for picking and kitting electronic components, preparing finished goods for dispatch, and assisting with stock control to ensure smooth and efficient workflow throughout the manufacturing process. Full training will be provided so we welcome applications from people at the start of their career.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately pick electronic components to create kits for production assembly
  • Pack and prepare assembled electronic products for dispatch, following standard packing instructions
  • Carry out regular stock counts and inventory checks to support accurate material control
  • Identify and report picking, packing, or counting issues; assist in tracing and rectifying product flow errors
  • Follow all safety and handling procedures when working with electronic products and materials
  • Label, locate, and update records for all source materials as required
  • Support the efficient operation of goods in/out and stock movement processes, contributing ideas for improvement where appropriate
  • Record and report any equipment faults or repairs within your area
  • Provide assistance and training to other operators on product or process knowledge when required
  • Identify and suggest process improvements for greater efficiency and quality
  • Support colleagues in resolving stock‑related queries during production assembly
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe packing area at all times
  • Provide cover for team members during absences when needed
