Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking an experienced Customer & Trading Manager to lead daily store operations in our Scottish Hawick location. You’ll work with a tight management team to keep the store running like clockwork and ensure top‑tier service for every customer.

You’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day operations, often as the sole manager on site, guiding a team to deliver efficient service while upholding safety and performance standards.

Qualifications

• Previous line management responsibilities in a fast-paced, operational environment.
• Delivers brilliant customer service and coaches a team to do the same.
• Demonstrates ability to meet or exceed KPIs (sales, availability, customer satisfaction, colleagues).
• Experience in leading store operations in the absence of more senior managers.
• Experience managing employee relations issues, including performance and absence management.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with a small team of managers to ensure the store runs smoothly.
• Take responsibility for day-to-day running of the store, often as the sole manager on duty.
• Collaborate with a team to complete tasks and ensure customers are served efficiently and safely.
• Manage performance and capability, conduct disciplinaries, and ensure scheduling and pay accuracy.
• Support neighboring stores when needed for network coverage.
