Ward A5 - the dedicated Neck of Femur (NOF) Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital, part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust - is seeking an experienced or newly qualified Registered Nurse to join our friendly and dynamic team. Ward A5 is a busy orthopaedic ward delivering high-quality care to both elective and trauma patients, with a strong focus on patient experience, safety, and rehabilitation.

The post holder will be responsible for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating all aspects of high‑quality patient care in a compassionate, sensitive and person‑centred manner. They will work collaboratively with the multi‑disciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care delivery, and actively contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and the continuous development of the service.
The role includes acting as a mentor and preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for supporting pre‑registration nursing students and contributing to their learning and development. The post holder will also take delegated responsibility for coordinating the clinical team on a shift‑by‑shift basis, ensuring the maintenance of high nursing standards, effective resource management, and a positive, safe environment for patients and staff.
