Staff Nurse, Cardiology, Wexham Park Hospital

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Staff Nurses to join our dynamic Cardiology team at Wexham Park Hospital.

Ward 4, our 20-bed Acute Cardiology Stepdown Unit, plays a vital role within our innovative Cardiac Unit. The ward works closely with our 10-bed Coronary Care Unit and two state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheter Laboratories, offering a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in cardiology nursing across the full spectrum of acute cardiac care.

We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses graduating from UK universities this year, as well as experienced nurses looking to advance their skills.   • Deliver high-quality nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, healthcare assistants, and care assistants.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate safe and effective patient care.
  • Maintain high standards of care in line with trust policies, clinical guidelines, and governance requirements.
  • Coordinate the team in the absence of the team leader.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient records and maintain accurate nursing documentation.
  • Handle complaints, incidents, and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, audits, and ongoing professional development.
  • Maintain personal professional portfolio and stay updated on legislation and hospital policies.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and contribute to staff and student nurse education.
  • Promote positive working relationships within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide specialist advice on cardiac procedures and support health promotion.
  • Use resources efficiently with awareness of budgetary impact.
  • Undertake extended clinical roles as required.
