To co operate and work in conjunction with other staff, professionals and agencies providing services, and to facilitate a high standard of resident care. To assist with the admission and discharge procedures of residents. Prepare and receive reports on residents and maintain all requisite records relating to the residents and their care and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all NMC and Home Policies, procedures and guidelines are observed.
- To source cover to ensure adequate staffing levels are in place if staff members report unfit for duty.
- To ensure confidentiality in relation to personal information and data relating to residents.
- Ensure the security of the home is maintained at all times.
- Responsibility for dealing with all queries or complaints reported by relatives or others in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures.
- To take charge as and when required in the absence of the Home Manager or Deputy Manager. To receive visitors and relatives to the home in a courteous manner and to afford time and facilities for dialogue.
- Promote safe working practice within the Home.
- Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence and keep professionally updated in all areas of clinical expertise. Report any faults or failures in equipment or systems or any hazards that are liable to cause an accident or injury.
- Participate in staff and other meetings as and when required. Establish and maintain good communication with Residents, Relatives and the MDT.
- Administer prescribed medications and document same in accordance with the Company's Policy and NMC guidelines.
- To assist in maintaining good systems of communication, and for the dissemination of information.
Skills and Qualifications
- Registered with the NMC.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Satisfactory Access NI Check.
- Experience/qualification in care for relevant client category.
- Previous supervisory experience.
